Organic Food, It Costs Loads, Doesn't It?
When we go to the supermarket, we have two choices organic or not organic. Which do you choose? Which should you choose?
Organic food is more expensive when we see it in the supermarket but is it really more expensive?
If you could eat a food and it made you feel fuller for longer, would it be worth more?
If you found out that you were eating a food and it didn't contain the nutrients is should do would it be worth less?
If you knew that a food that you regularly eat had hormones in it to make you fat would you still eat it?
So what's this article all about? Well most likely I get more nutrients than you, I stay lean constantly because I avoid hormone-induced foods, I probably spend less than you on my shopping and all because I eat organic. This article is to educate you in why you should to.
So, first lets look at what organic is?
Organic refers to the way that farmers grow and produce agricultural products. The practices encourage water and soil conservation and reduce pollution due to no chemicals being used.
So lets look at fruit and vegetables to start with. Organic produce will be grown in a field where crop rotation occurs to allow the soil to regenerate its lost nutrients from the last batch. Un-organic produce doesn't need to be grown on fields filled with nutrients as the chemicals can make the produce look as if it is filled with nutrients even when its nutritionally empty. If you're anything like me then you eat your vegetables whether you like them or not because they're good for you but are they. If you're eating un-organic for the nutrients then I'm sorry but you're most likely wasting your time as there nutritionally empty.
Next MEAT, I love meat and I eat it all the time. What if meat was intended to make you fat, well if its not organic it is?
You see non-organic meat is fed all kinds of growth hormone and steroids that are intended to fatten up the animal. Yes you heard me right, not steroids to make you strong, steroids to make you fat. So if you want to eat meat that is intended to make you and the animal fat carry on, other wise get on the organic.
So you get the idea, organic is the better choice. Yes it may seem more expensive when you put it in the trolley but trust me it's the cheaper option. Here is a list of reasons why organic is better.
1. Fills you up for longer - because you are giving the body the nutrients it wants it will be satisfied for much longer and you will eat less.
2. Organic tastes better, simple as.
3. How much money are you going to spend on weight loss diets, gyms etc because your eating steroids to fatten you up as well as empty nutritional foods that cause you to crave rubbish.
4. Last of all if we don't do something now there will be no land left for organic farming and it die out, killing off all nutritional qualities of the foods and eventually us.
